Robert: Facebook and Instagram are banning “commonly sexual emojis”

Facebook and Instagram have a problem with how we use certain emojis.

New rules added to the Facebook Community Standards state the social media platforms are putting their foot down “when content facilitates, encourages or coordinates sexual encounters between adults.”

Under the new rules, “contextually specific and commonly sexual emojis or emoji strings” are prohibited. Which means using the peach emoji for anything other than talking about fruit could get your post removed or subject you to other disciplinary actions.

We won’t even talk about the eggplant emoji.
