Robert: DNA evidence suggests Loch Ness Monster is a giant eel

A scientist who claims to have collected DNA from Scotland’s Loch Ness is suggesting he has discovered the secret to one of Scotland’s greatest mysteries.

Neil Gemmell from the University of Otago in New Zealand says he found a high amount of eel DNA in the water of the Loch, inferring that the famed Loch Ness monster may possibly be a giant eel.

While his findings do not support the long held claim that “Nessie” is a some sort of long-necked dinosaur, he does admits that it is not clear whether the abundance of eel DNA is the result of one big one, or a large population of little ones.
