Robert: CeeBees kicked out of hockey league

In a post on the HGOE CeeBees Stars Facebook page, team executives announced to fans that the CeeBees are no longer welcome in the Avalon East Senior Hockey League. (AESHL)

“It is with much disappointment that we share with our loyal fans that the AESHL has advised the HGOE CeeBee Stars are no longer welcome in the league.” Team execs stated in the post. They added that the league would not address their concerns with the team directly.

“We have had thorough email communication with the league executive members, including Jack Casey, Joe Maynard, Ian Sullivan and Pat Rose, as well as 100’s of unanswered texts and phone calls in a plea to work together in a manner that’s respectful and decent.” The post reads, “However, in response, attached is the blunt, without reason, letter we received.”

“It is our intention to return to the 4 team format and schedule last used in the 2014/2015 season.” the letter to the CeeBees reads. Sent on behalf of the Coneption Bay Blues, Southern Shoer Breakers, Northeast Eagles and St. John’s Capitals, it continues, “Our four organizations have decided that it is in our best interest to proceed with the 4 metro teams in a league that excludes the CeeBess.”

CeeBee executives have indicated that the team is reaching out to Hockey NL to intervene as they consider the future of hockey for the team.
