Robert: Australian blueberry sets new world record
A blueberry picked in the ‘Land Down Under’ has set a new Guinness World Record for the heaviest ever.
Guinness has confirmed the blueberry grown by David and Leasa Mazzardis in Wilbinga, Western Australia, set a new world record at 0.57 ounces. (16.16 grams) The gigantic berry has a diameter of 1.4 inches. (3.6 cm)
The Mazzardis say the unusually large berry is a result of selectively breeding the Ozblue variety of blueberries for traits related to taste and texture.
