Robert: Astronomers discover evidence of life on Venus

When we think of life on other planets, Mars is the stereotypical home base of extra-terrestrials. However, new evidence suggests that the aliens may be living on the opposite side of our planet.

Astronomers say they’ve detected a chemical in the layers of clouds that cover Venus that likely can only be produced by organic life.

“I was just stunned,” said Jane Greaves, lead study author and a professor at Cardiff University. “We’re talking, if they’re there, I think probably single-celled organisms, but they’d probably be pretty different to something on Earth.”

This new discovery is not proof of life, but it’s a good indicator of what could be calling Earth’s closest neighbour home.
