Robert: Adidas releases sneakers commemorating Terry Fox
To mark the 40th anniversary of Terry Fox’s Marathon oh Hope, Adidas are releasing sneakers reminiscent of those Fox wore as he ran across Canada in support of cancer research and awareness.
The sneaker’s shoelaces will have quotes by Fox on them and the words”Terry Fox” printed alongside the iconic Adidas stripes. Each shoe will also come with a copy of the letter he sent to Adidas prior to his Marathon requesting footwear.

In addition to honouring a Canadian icon, the company will be donating 100% of the net proceeds from the sneakers, and a commemorative t-shirt, to the Terry Fox Foundation.
Fox began his Marathon of Hope in 1980 in St. John’s. He would run for 143 days, racking up 5,373 km along the way, before being diagnosed with lung cancer.
