Announced Saturday afternoon, there are no new cases of COVID-19 in Newfoundland and Labrador, one day after the province detected its first case in almost a month and a half. Yesterday’s new travel-related case remains the only active case. The man who tested positive is not in hospital, but isolating at home. Contact tracing has been completed and all close contacts have tested negative. The provincial government says because the man who tested positive self-isolated upon his return, the risk to the public is low. To date, 20,175 people have been tested. The next video health briefing is expected Wednesday, July 15th.
