Hugh: WestJet Suspending Service to St. John’s
WestJet announced today that it is temporarily suspending service to four Canadian cities, including St. John’s. The capital of Newfoundland and Labrador joins London, ON, and Lloydminster and Medicine Hat, AB as cities that the airline company will no longer fly to as of March 19th. WestJet says they plan to resume service to these locations on June 24th. The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on airlines is no secret and while not as many people have been flying lately, the disruption of service will make things more difficult for those who do need to travel. WestJet says guests whose travel has been impacted by this development will be contacted directly.
