Hugh: Two New Cases of COVID-19 in Newfoundland
Saturday afternoon, the province announced there are two new cases of COVID-19 in Newfoundland and Labrador. Both new cases are travel-related. The first case is a woman in the Eastern Health region between 20-39 years of age who returned from the United States. She has been self-isolating since arrival and all contact tracing has already been completed.
The second case is a woman in the Western Health region between 20-39 years of age who returned from Ontario. She is a close contact of yesterday’s newly reported case, as a member of the same household. As with the previous case, she has been self-isolating since arrival and all contact tracing is complete. The Department of Health and Community Services is also correcting an error with yesterday’s new case, which is located in the Western Health region, not Central as was previously reported.
The province currently has 8 active cases of COVID-19.
