Hugh: Survey Reveals Dating Trends That Will be Big in 2023

Modern dating can be a tricky game, and of course the way we interact with each other changes regularly, so what can we expect in 2023? Dating app Bumble recently conducted a survey to determine which dating trends we can expect to be big in the new year. By taking the opinions of 14,000 people in the dating field around the world, they were able to identify seven things people are looking for going forward. Overall, people seem to be interested in changing the norm and finding more balance. 1. Open Casting – more people are interested in dating people beyond their usual “type” or who others expect them to date
2. Guardrailing- the majority of people are interested in establishing boundaries, both for emotional needs and social obligations
3. Wanderlove – more people are interested in travel and dating people who aren’t in their current city
4. New Year, New Me(n) – more men are reflecting on their own behaviour and are also more open to expressing their emotions
5. Dating Renaissance – a growing number of people who have left serious relationships or marriages are open to using apps to find someone new
6. Ethical Sex-ploration – a majority of respondents believe sex is no longer taboo and are willing to be open about their wants, needs, and exploring new things
7. Cash-Candid Dating – most people prefer casual dates to something fancy, and are setting financial boundaries in their dating lives
