Hugh & Shannell: The world’s last Blockbuster has been converted into an Airbnb
The sole remaining store in the Blockbuster video store empire is trying again to cash in on the nostalgia factor, Consequence of Sound reports. Sandi Harding, the manager of the Bend, Oregon, Blockbuster location, recently listed the store on Airbnb. The ad features a portion of the store that has been turned into fully-functioning living room resort, with a pull-out couch, a TV, unlimited snacks, and unlimited access to the store’s full catalog. Harding is billing the space the “End of Summer Sleepover”, and is offering it for 3 one-night stays in September, but only for residents of Deschutes County. 3 lucky parties of 4 will have their run of the store for only $4 per night on September 18-20. The ad even suggests that the guests play “Bloody Mary” in the staff bathroom, in hopes they can summon the ghost that’s rumored to haunt the premises.
