Hugh: Province Records Two New Cases of COVID-19 in Eastern Health Region
Announced Saturday, there are two new cases of COVID-19 in Newfoundland and Labrador. Both new cases are travel-related and located in the Eastern Health region. The first case is a female between 60-69 years of age who returned to the province from Europe. The second is a female between 20-39 who returned from the United States. The new cases are not connected and are not part of the same household. Both individuals are self-isolating and contact tracing is underway. With one new recovery since yesterday, the province currently has six active cases of COVID-19.
The Department of Health and Community Services is asking passengers who traveled on Air Canada Flight 7480 from Montreal to St. John’s on Thursday, November 5th to call 811 to arrange for COVID-19 testing. Public Health is making this ask out of an abundance of caution and because of the second case announced today.
