Hugh: Eating Spicy Peppers Linked to Longer Life

Even if it feels like you’re dying when you eat a hot chili pepper, that Devil’s fruit (yep, peppers are a fruit) could help you live longer. A new American Heart Association study found that participants who regularly ate hot peppers saw “a 26% reduction in cardiovascular mortality; a 23% relative reduction in cancer mortality; and a 25% relative reduction in all-cause mortality.” They aren’t a guarantee for a longer life, but the study gives some credit to the anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and blood glucose-regulating properties of a spicy chili pepper. This must mean that Hot Ones host Sean Evans is gonna live forever.
