Hugh: City of Milwaukee Tells Residents to Stop Vaping Immediately After 16 Hospitalized With Chemical Pneumonia

The city of Milwaukee says every single resident who smokes e-cigarettes should stop vaping “immediately” after 16 people have been hospitalized there with lung problems.¬†“Stop using any vape and/or e-cigarette devices immediately,” the city’s department of health said Wednesday in a press release. “As of August 28, 16 individuals have been hospitalized with severe chemical pneumonia (inflammation of the lungs due to aspiration or inhalation of irritants). These individuals reported using vape products…in the weeks and months prior to hospitalization.” The announcement comes the same week as Juul CEO Kevin Burns told¬†CBS This Morning. “Don’t vape. Don’t use Juul. Don’t start using nicotine if you don’t have a preexisting relationship with nicotine.”
