Do you think the last episode of Game of Thrones is award-worthy?

Because apparently the showrunners of Game of Thrones didn’t get enough vitriol and mockery during the finale of the HBO series, the final episode has now been submitted for a Best Writing Emmy Award. As Consequence of Sound reports, the series finale, “The Iron Throne,” is the only episode of Season 8 that HBO has submitted for the Best Writing category. Fans of the series complained on social media that there were other far superior episodes during the season. Among other complaints, many fans weren’t terribly excited about who ended up on the throne. Now that the ballot submissions are out, Emmy nominations will be announced on July 16 and the Emmys will air on September 22 on FOX.
