Details on first shows for Disney’s streaming service emerge, features Star Wars and Marvel
Disney confirmed Thursday that its new streaming service will launch with a Star Wars prequel series and a new series focusing on Tom Hiddleston’s Marvel character Loki. Consequence of Sound reports that the Star Wars project will serve as a prequel to Rogue One and will center on Diego Luna’s rebel spy character Cassian Andor in the early days of the Rebellion. Luna will reprise his role as Andor, who will undertake “espionage and daring missions to restore hope to a galaxy in the grip of a ruthless Empire.” Hiddleston is also set to reprise his role in the planned Loki series, while its rumored Elizabeth Olsen will return as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch in a second Marvel Cinematic Universe series. Both series will span six to eight episodes and will be overseen by Marvel head Kevin Feige.
