Be honest, have you ever stolen a road sign?
There are Old Town Roads across North America–actual streets, not the song. But it’s because of Lil Nas X’s tune’s popularity that Old Town Road street signs keep getting stolen in communities like Wellesley, Massachusetts, and Sicamous, British Columbia, reports CNN. The latter town decided to cash in on the spree, selling replicas of the sign for $25 apiece. “They are selling like hotcakes already,” Mayor Terry Rysz told CBC News. As for the song, it continues to be a juggernaut: Not only does it hold the record for the longest-running hit atop Billboard‘s Hot 100 charts, but it’s now set records for the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop and Hot Rap Songs charts as well.
