A fourth case of COVID-19 coronavirus has been found in the province
Earlier Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Janice Fitzgerald announced there has been a new case of COVID-19 coronavirus in Newfoundland and Labrador, bringing the total number of cases up to 4.
She continued to explain that the case was discovered in the Eastern Health region, and is related to international travel. She mentioned the individual is doing well and is isolated. Contact tracing has begun by medical professionals.
Premier Dwight Ball would then declare that all individuals returning to the province, whether from an international location or from within Canada, MUST self-isolate for 14 days once home.
During the announcement, Dr. Fitzgerald, Health Minister John Haggie, and Premier Dwight Ball, urged the importance of following the recommendations of health officials, including social distancing.
To date, 791 people have been tested, with 787 tests having been deemed negative.
