15 new cases on COVID-19 in NL, more businesses ordered to close
Chief Medical Officer Dr. Janice Fitzgerald announced 15 new cases of COVID-19 coronavirus in Newfoundland and Labrador, bringing the total in the province to 24.
Of these 15 new cases, 14 are in the Eastern Health region, and 1 in Central Health.
Dr. Fitzgerald notes that Public Health is currently in the process of contact tracing and will communicate with those who may have come in contact with anyone who has tested positive.
In addition, Dr. Fitzgerald prohibited gatherings of more than 10 people and ordered the closure of hair salons, tanning rooms, tattoo and piercing, and retail stores, with the exception of food stores, pharmacies, gas stations, hardware stores, pet and animal supply stores.
